Viking Cruises sets new World Record

first_imgViking River Cruises has made the Guinness World Record for simultaneously inaugurating ten passenger ships, the most ships to be inaugurated in one day by one company in the history of cruising.Certified by a Guinness World Records adjudicator this week, the historic milestone took place in two destinations, with four ships inaugurated in the Amsterdam Harbour and the other at the Neptun shipyard in Germany, Miami Herald reported.  Although ten ship were christened on the day, only eight were counted towards the record, because two ships had already entered services in 2012.The ten ships included in Wednesdays ceremony include;  Viking Aegir, Viking Atla, Viking Bragi, Viking Embla, Viking Forseti, Viking Jarl, Viking Rinda, Viking Tor, Viking Var  and Viking Skadi.Source = e-Travel Blackboard: N.J.
